As the Muslim world celebrates Eid-el Maulud, the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Northern States Governors Forum (NSGF) has called on all Muslims and indeed all Nigerians to share with one another and spread the virtues of peace, love and charity, which the holy Prophet lived for.

Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu on Wednesday  urged Muslims to use the festival as a period of sober reflection on the numerous challenges facing the country and to renew their faith in Allah (SWT) and also pray for solutions to the nation’s challenges.

In a message signed by Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, the forum urged Muslims to continue to follow the exemplary life led by the noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW) so as to engender the peace that is needed for growth and development.

The statement noted that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) lived a complete life worthy of emulation by all and then called on Muslims to imbibe such exemplary qualities so as to earn maximum reward in the hereafter.

The Governors pledged their commitment to individually and collectively continue to promote the welfare of all citizens under their watch, irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliation while ensuring the protection of lives and property.

The forum wished Muslims joyful celebrations and prayed for the warmth of Allah’s love to fill every home.
