Zaria PDP chairman joins APC, urges members to vote El-Rufai

#TrackNigeria: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Zaria local government in Kaduna state, Alhaji Samaila Musa Dan Arewa, other chieftains and teeming of the party have joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) barely 3 days to the governorship and house of Assembly elections.

A statement by the Special Assistant to Kaduna state governor on Media, Samuel Aruwan made available to Newsdiaryonline Wednesday said the decision was to support the reelection bid Nasir El-Rufai.

“At a meeting with the Senator Elect representing Kaduna North Senatorial District, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, the PDP Chairman of Zaria Local government Alhaji Samaila Musa Dan Arewa, Sarkin Gandu said the decision to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) was borne out the desire to support governor Nasir El-Rufai’s re-election bid so that he can continue the good work he has started in infrastructural development and other Social investment programs which are geared towards improving the well-being of our people,” it read.

The PDP Chairman also remarked that some of the qualities of Elrufai including education, capacity, competence and experience were unmatched with those of the PDP governorship candidate.

He further said that the PDP was long dead in Kaduna state. “The state party Leadership and exco is so corrupt, lacks focus and only pursue their individual selfish political interest. They impose unqualified persons as candidates against the wishes and aspirations of party members.”

Receiving the defectors, the Senator elect, Alhaji Suleman Abdu Kwari  congratulated the chairman and his teaming supporters for the wise decision that they took.

He also assured them that they would be treated equally and fairly with other members of the APC in Zaria Local government and at the state Levels.

Zaria Local government emerged as the local government in Nigeria with the highest votes of 111,082 for President Muhammadu Buhari during the last presidential elections.
