The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has described as false, news reports Thursday that its operatives had raided the residence of Senator Danjuma Goje in Abuja.
EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren said such reports about a raid by its operatives on Senator’s home should be disregarded.
“The report is false as the Commission was not a part of any such activity,” Uwujaren said.
It was not immediately clear which arm of the security services carried out the reported operation.
However, Nigeria has been gripped by tale of discovered funds following the recent adoption of a whistle-blower policy.
On Monday, the Director General of NIA was suspended by Nigerian government in the aftermath of $43m found in Ikoyi apartment following a whistle-blower’s hint to EFCC.
