Wamakko sponsors 40 students to Maryam Abacha American Varsity, Niger Republic

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has sponsored fourty indigenes of Sokoto State to undergo various first degree courses at the Maryam Abacha American University in Maradi, Niger republic.
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani on Monday said that presented the letters of admission to the beneficiaries who were drawn from across the state.
It added that the students were made up of thirty seven males and three females to undertake courses Computer Engineering, Nursing Sciences, Law, Information Technology, MBBS and Public Health, among other Arts, Science and Humanities.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Wamakko admonished them to properly utilize the chance provided to them, adding that the sponsorship included registration fees, upkeep allowances as well as befitting accommodation.
“You should face your studies seriously, be disciplined and good ambassadors of your various families, Sokoto state and Nigeria in general. You should shun all acts that are capable of truncating your education, so as to be useful to yourselves, families, the state and the country,” he told the students.
Responding on behalf of the benefitting students, Aminu Abdullahi Ibrahim commended Wamakko for the gesture and pledged to live above board.
