Wamakko sponsors 40 students to Biga COE, Sokoto

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has sponsored forty indigent students to Biga College of Education, Sokoto to undergo various courses for the National Certificate in Education (NCE).
A statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani issued to newsmen in Sokoto on Monday said that Wamakko distributed the admission letters to the benefiting students on Monday.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, Wamakko explained that the beneficiaries were drawn from the twenty three local governments areas of the state with priority attention to educationally-disadvantaged local governments of Illela, Gudu and Silame.
While admonishing the students to strive in order to excel in their studies and be useful to themselves, their families and the state, he added that the gesture was to shore up the educational development of the state and Nigeria in general.
He announced that payment of monthly upkeep allowances to the students would commence on Tuesday, while a befitting accommodation would be provided for those who hail from outside Sokoto city and its environs.
Wamakko is currently sponsoring hundreds of students in Pakistan, Ghana, Cotonou, Sudan, Cyprus, Niger republic, Uganda, Ilorin and Abeokuta, in Kwara and Ogun States, respectively.
