Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State on Monday announced the appointment of a former Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Hon. Idris Saidu Ndako as the new Secretary to the State Government.
He also appointed the Permanent Secretary of Niger State Law Reform Commission, Barr. Abbas Bello as the new Head of the state’s civil service, while the Director General in charge of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) office, Mr. Joshua Bawa is the new Chief of Staff, Government House.
A statement signed by Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo said the Governor has also approved the appointment of a former member of the Niger State House of Assembly, Hon Mohammed Saba Usman as Deputy Chief of Staff in the Governor’s Office.
The statement said the changes were in furtherance to the ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the Governor Aliyu-led PDP government for enhanced service delivery and the attainment of Vision 3:2020.
Born in January 1965, the new Secretary to the State Government holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Bayero University, Kano. The SSG-Designate was until his appointment the Commissioner of Planning and Deputy Chairman, Niger State Planning Commission.
The government statement says the new appointees would be sworn in later in the week.
