#TrackNigeria: One of the opposition parties in the country, Justice Must Prevail Party (JMPP), on Monday, reiterated that it would not merge with any other political party ahead of the general elections.
Some of its leaders, who spoke made the JMPP’s position known in Abuja.
Dr Olusegun Ijagbemi, National Chairman of the JMPP, said ”the strength of the party is in the 12 Pillars of Oath.
“Without this oath, we are just like any other party that will be looking for merger so that they can survive in order to go into the business of stealing and further impoverishing the people of Nigeria.
“We are not politicians; we are leaders ready to sacrifice our lives. Politicians rob the nation of its money; they buy the people’s conscience.
“So we are not interested in alliances of that nature. But if our present leaders are ready to take oath, we will welcome them,” he said.
According to him, what can bring development to Nigeria is this oath and without this oath, politicians will be deceiving us with English, bringing to us pictures of things they can never achieve.
He said the JMPP presently had 28 governorship candidates and a total of 689 candidates contesting for various positions on the party’s platform across Nigeria.
“This is the third largest nomination that you have among the political parties.
“So if you rate the new parties, in fact, we are the best. So if you want to call us the third force, of course, we are beginning to emerge because we have the largest next to APC and PDP in terms of appearances for contest,” he said.
Ijagbemi said the size of JMPP was an encouragement and that the party had the numerical strength to be the majority party.
Earlier, the Pioneer Chairman of JMPP, Dr Sarah Jubril, reaffirmed that the party would not form alliance with any other political party.
“No, it is going to be pollution. Merge with who? We cannot join the parties that are polluted with deception and don’t have the standard of how God wants this country to run.
“We cannot merge with anybody,” she said.
Presidential Candidate of the party, Apostle Sunday Chukwu-Eguzolugo, said the party was ready to battle with others in the forthcoming general elections.
“We cannot merge with other parties because our party is different from other political parties.
“We are operating in high frequency of political campaign system.
“However, those who want Nigeria to be healed can come and join us.
“JMPP was revealed in 2010 in the house of a Muslim in Kebbi State,” he remarked.
Chukwu-Eguzolugo expressed optimism that the party would be victorious in the coming elections. (NAN)
