The Berom Community Association Abuja, (BECA) Nigeria has expressed sadness over the abduction of the Gwom Rwei Vwang, which occurred on Monday 17th January, 2022.
The group said it was even one unfortunate since traditional rulers have always advocated peace.
A statement signed by BECA Abuja (Dr) David Dung,President an Timothy M. Choji, General Secretary said, “This is indeed a sad development as traditional rulers are known to be advocates of peace at all times and cannot be so ridiculed by lawless people like kidnappers.
BECA therefore, condemned the dastardardly act in its totality and called on “security agents to do their best to rescue our dear royal father form his abductors.”
The groupmalso called on the government of Plateau State to ensure the safety of all traditional rulers in the State and their subjects by beefing security around them to forestall future occurrence.
Furthermore, BECA recalled that on December 26, 2021 the Sum Pyem was abducted in Gindiri. “Now it is Gwom Rwei Vwang and only God knows who will be next therefore, there is need for an immediate and proactive action by government.
“We also call on our communities back home to be vigilant and law abiding at all times. We must not allow miscreants to take advantage of any form of complacency on our part. We should be on guard at all times to secure ourselves and our families.
May God expose the work of all evil doers and protect us from them,” BECA concludes.
