Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum sets date for IG4D, IPv6 roundtable 2018

The 2018 edition of the Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) and Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable have gotten dates in June for the two-day annual stakeholder engagement.

The organisers of Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) and Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable, DigitalSENSE Africa Media made this disclosure on Monday in Lagos.

According to the convener and Executive Director, Operations at DigitalSENSE Africa Media, Mrs Nkemdilim Nweke, the dates for the 2018 NDSF series on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) and Nigeria IPv6 Roundtable have been fixed for Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7, at the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), Cappa, Lagos.

The main themes for the two-day forum, she said, are for Day 1 IG4D; ‘Internet Governance: Sustaining Development’ on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, while Day 2 is the Nigeria IPV6 Roundtable on ‘IPv6: Broadening the Horizon’ on Thursday, June 7, 2018.

She also said that date announcement before end of every January, has become customary to enable Internet stakeholders to mark their calendars and get ready for another year of multi-stakeholder assembly under the umbrella of Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum series.

This, she equally said will afford stakeholders like the mobile network operators, mobile phone companies, among others to streamline their activities by taking advantage of this two-day events which exhibits the true stakeholders engagement on Internet Governance for Development and IPv6 Roundtable in Nigeria.

Mrs Nweke pointed out that Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum series which is on its 10th year has remained a distinguished annual rallying point for Internet stakeholders in the country.

NDSF series, she said, is organised and hosted by DigitalSENSE Africa (DSA) Media, an At-Large Structure certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), Nigeria Internet Group, Internet Society, Nigeria chapter and IPv6 Council Nigeria, as well as the Africa Civil Society on the Information Society (ACSIS), among others.

DigitalSENSE Africa Media, she noted, is an At-Large Structure (ALS) certified by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and organizes this annual forum in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Galaxy Backbone and National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), Nigeria Internet Group, Internet Society, Nigeria chapter and IPv6 Council Nigeria, to name but a few.

Further, she said, DigitalSENSE Africa is a team of internationally reputed and award-winning Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry analysts and perception managers; professionally affiliated to African Regional At-Large Organisation (AFRALO) for shaping the future of the Internet, African Civil Society for the Information Society (ACSIS).
