The Senator representing Niger South senatorial district, Senator Sani Mustapha Mohammed has dumped his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mohammed resigned in protest of his name being dropped from the list of candidates for the 2019 elections after being assured of an automatic ticket.
The Senator have an hint of the move over the weekend when he directed members of his campaign committee to address the media in Minna.
Senator through the Chairman of his campaign committee had queried the APC for omitting his name out if the three sitting Senator.
He accused the APC for reneging on the previous agreement of giving automatic tickets to all sitting senators and being unjust by changing his name overnight without giving him prior notice or explaining why his name was removed.
“Why is only Senator Sani Mustapha Mohammed name omitted in the list submitted to INEC? Why is it that Alhaji Mohammed Nina name who contested was replaced with Senator Sani Mohammed to INEC?
“It is injustice done to Senator Sani Mohammed by replacing only his name among the three incumbent Senators who were given automatic ticket for affirmation to contest the 2019 general election without giving him any reason why his name was omitted. “
The Senator explained that is decision to leave the party was due to the injustice being meted on him by the leadership of the party.
