The Presidency has issued a clarification on its earlier statement announcing the appointment of AIG Suleiman Abba as the new Inspector General of Police.
Presidential Spokesman,Reuben Abati who issued the clarification Thursday night said “ that AIG Suleiman Abba’s appointment as Inspector-General of Police is in acting capacity.”
Abati issued the clarification thus:”The statement earlier released announcing President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s approval of the appointment of a new Inspector-General of Police refers.
“Please note that AIG Suleiman Abba’s appointment as Inspector-General of Police is in acting capacity.
“The appointment is with effect from Friday, August 1, 2014.
