Nasarawa Youths Endorse Jonathan For 2015

Goodluck-Jonathan-NigeriaThe National Youths Council of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Chapter has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan and ‎Information Minister Mr. Labaran Maku as their preferred candidates for the 2015 presidential and governorship election in Nasarawa State.
The Council announced their decision on the 2015 election in a communiqué issued at the end of a town hall meeting in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital.
The town hall meeting by the National Youths Council of Nigeria in Nasarawa State, which is the amalgamation of all youth associations in the state, was held to give direction to the youths on their choice of leaders in the 2015 general elections.
The communique, which was read by the President of the Council, Comrade Usman Abdulhakim, said after deliberations on the current political situations and the re-alignment across the various political interests and ethnic groups in Nasarawa State, Mr. Maku emerged as the most broadly accepted choice for governorship of Nasarawa State in 2015.
He said because of Mr. Maku’s wide contact and connection with the youths in Nasarawa State, the youths see him as one of their own and as a game changer who has the capacity and energy to promote rapid development of the state.
Comrade Abdulhakim stated that the Council had followed the track records of Mr. Maku from his university days‎ up to his public service and found him worthy to lead Nasarawa State in 2015.
He said the Nasarawa youths had considered the enviable records of Mr Maku‎ in all the offices he held, which speak of integrity, loyalty, hardwork, patriotism and commitment to justice and improved well-being of the society.
The communique described the Information Minister as a bridge builder who used his position to champion the cause of peace and promote reconciliation and unity among the warring communities in Nasarawa State.
The youths said because of their commitment to offering the best leader for Nasarawa State in 2015, they had resolved to deploy all their resources and numerical strength to cause a generational shift in the leadership of the state.
The youths who decried the spate of communal and ethic violence, which bedeviled the state in the last three year, said Nasarawa State needed a leader who could rally round all the ethnic groups in order to return the state to the path of peace and sustainable development.
Speaking on the political future of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Nasarawa youth thanked the president for his development projects in the state, which included the construction of roads across the state, the gigantic Loko-Oweto bridge, siting a federal university in Lafia, employment of 5000 youths under the SURE-P, and pledged to reciprocate the gesture by giving him 100% of their votes in 2015.

They urged the president not to be discouraged by the ranting of the opposition and come out boldly to declare for the 2015 presidential election in order to consolidate on the Transformation Agenda.
In her remarks, the Guest Speaker, Dr. Rejoice Madike urged the youths to use their minds for positive and creative thinking‎ that would promote development in the country.
She enjoined the youths to allow positive thoughts to overwhelm their subconsciousness to succeed by utilising their talents to create employment and wealth.
Dr. Madike advised that once the youths occupy their minds with negative thoughts, their actions would most like go the negative way.
