Aliku made the call in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday  in Karu Nasarawa.

NAN reports that the protest began on Aug.1 nationwide.

“I urge parents to caution their children against further participation in the on-going protest,” he said,

He added that though protest was a constitutional right of every Nigerian, when it becomes violent, the same constitution prohibits it.

“As a traditional ruler,  my appeal to parents is for them to caution their children against violence and destruction of public and private property,” he said.
