Mr Nehemiah Tsentse, the Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has won his second term bid for Akwanga North constituency.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Bassi Ibrahim of the Federal University, Lafia, announced the result on Sunday in Lafia.
Ibrahim said that Tsentse of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 8688 votes to beat Mr Daniel Tanko of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) who scored 7317 votes.
” Mr Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura of APC having scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared as the winner of the election conducted on the March 18 for Akwanga North State Constituency seat, ” Adofu said.
The Returning Officer said that the total votes cast was 17,442 while total valid votes was 17, 198 and rejected votes 214.
Reacting to his victory, the Deputy Speaker appreciated God and the people of the constituency for his victory.
He pledged to continue provide sound and quality representation to the people of Akwanga North constituency at the state assembly. ( NAN)
