#TrackNigeria- The Lagos State Command of Nigeria Police Force has initiated training programmes to train police officers in Lagos state
According to CP Zubairu Muazu, the training will cover areas such as: “Respect and protection of human rights; Arrest procedures; Legal procedures on conducting search; Legal procedure on the use of force; and Relationship building. We are equally in talk with some partners to organise training for our officers and men on Emotional intelligence.”
The CP made the announcement during a press briefing on Thursday.He also gave updates on the kidnap of the state fire service boss.Alhough he has regained freedom,some arrests have been made in the case he said.
He also disclosed that some impostors using the name of King Sunny Ade to defraud innocent people online have been arrested.

Good afternoon gentlemen of the Press, you are welcome to this Press briefing. Thank you for always honouring our invitations. You have been of tremendous help and support to the Command. Thank you once more.
It is obvious that with the elections over, fresh security challenges are beginning to resurface in our state but our collective resolve in protecting the lives and properties of the People of Lagos state is unshaken. The State Police Command (has) evolved new strategies in preventing and combating crimes in the state that is aimed at reassuring the people of their safety. Our deployments are targeted towards combating traffic robbery and easing the free flow of traffic across the state.
Our Tactical units are repositioned for Intelligence driven approach to tackling the menace of kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism and gangsterism.
Our Rapid Response Squad (RRS) equipped with the state of the art facilities is more than ever ready to promptly and effectively respond to distress calls/emergencies in any part of the state.
My vision is to present to Lagosians a state where everyone is safe to carryout his/her legitimate duties at all time. A state where no one is harassed or intimidated by anyone. These cannot be achieved without a more humane, professional, courageous and peoples friendly police officers. May I on behalf of Officers and Men of Lagos State Police Command, wish our Christian Brothers and Sisters Happy Easter Celebrations. The Command has made adequate arrangement for hitch free celebrations.
Permit me to share with you some of our modest achievements in the past few weeks:
1. Two Suspects were arrested in connection with the abduction of the Director Fire Service and Six others
On 6/4/2019 at about 2000hrs, the Director of Lagos State Fire Service Mr. Rasaki Musibau and Six Others were abducted at Ketu-Ereyun, Ikorodu. They regained their freedom on 09/04/2019 at about 11.45pm. Following a sustained and well-coordinated operations by the Command’s Tactical Anti-Kidnapping Unit, two suspects namely; Blessing Bayo ‘m’ 29yrs and Smart Alfred ‘m’ 32yrs all of Arogbo, Ondo State were arrested on 10/4/19 at about 0530 hrs, at Ibafun along Ikorodu- Ijebu Ode Express Way, a boundary community with Ogun. They all confessed to the commission of the crime. Two single barrel guns were recovered from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing.
2. Arrest of King Sunny Ade imposters
On the 31/12/2018, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye aka. King Sunny Ade wrote a complaint letter to the Command, that some unknown person(s) opened a fake instagram account and bank accounts in his name, which they used in defrauding members of the public. A thorough and painstaking investigation conducted by operatives of our Criminal Intelligence Bureau led to the arrest of the following suspects: (1) Ayoola Zainab ‘f’, (2) Oyewunmi Abiodun Ridwan, (3) Oyedokun Lawrence Femi ‘m’ and (4) Oyebode Rebecca ‘f’. Ayoola Zainab ‘f’ confessed to have opened an account on the instruction of her boyfriend Oyewunmi Abiodun Ridwan from whom we recovered the ATM card of the account they used in defrauding 28 innocent Victims of the sum of N1,387,000. Oyebode Rebecca ‘f’ owns an account used in defrauding 33 innocent persons the sum of N1, 454,200.00.
Oyedokun Lawrence Femi who is the leader of the syndicate, opened a fake instagram and email accounts, the platform where he placed an information about a non-existing King Sunny Ade USA musical tour through which 33 innocent victims were defrauded of a total sum of N2,841,200.00. Suspects were charged to court for Conspiracy, Impersonation and Fraud.
3. Police Inspector suspected to be involved in the shooting of Adaobi Ifeanyi and Emmanuel Akomafuwa have been dismissed from the Force
On 13th April, 2019 at about 7.00am, Police Officers attached to Trinity Police station namely; Inspector Adamu Usman, Sergeant Adeyeye Adeoye, Sergeant Kashim Tijani, Sergeant Lucky Akigbe and Sergeant Paul Adeoye who were suspected to be involved in the shooting of Ada Ifeanyi ‘f’ 20yrs old of No 4b Amusa Lane off Ojo road Ajegunle and Emmanuel Akomafuwa ‘m’ 32yrs old of No. 52 Babatunde Street Olodi Apapa, at Akpiri Street, Olodi Apapa, were arrested and detained, while Inspector Dania Ojo who escaped immediately after the shooting was declared wanted.
The Police Officers were subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings at the Command Headquarters Ikeja. Investigation revealed that Inspector Dania Ojo unilaterally carried out the shooting without consideration to laid down procedures on the use of firearm. He is therefore, found guilty of abuse of power, unlawful and unnecessary exercise of authority. He is thereby dismissed from the Nigeria Police Force and declared wanted. Upon arrest, he will be charged to Court for Murder.
4. Arrest of Armed robbery suspects and recovery of firearms
On the 10/3/2019 at about 1300hrs Surveillance team attached to Festac Police Station, while on patrol arrested one Olaniyi Sokunle ‘m’ 23yrs old, with locally made pistol at Alakija under the bridge. On interrogation, the suspect confessed to be a members of the gang whom have involved in traffic robbery. Investigation led to the arrest of two other members of the gang namely: Suleiman Musa ‘m’ 19yrs and Sadiq Lawal ‘m’ 20yrs old, at Maza Maza, Mile 2. Exhibits recovered includes; five wraps of cocaine, 43 wraps of Indian helm cannabis, large quantity of Indian helm dush, 6 different brand of handsets suspected to have been robbed from people. Suspects will be charged to Court for Armed Robbery.
5. Arrest of Kidnapper and rescued of abducted person
On 12/04/2019 at about 1810hrs one Rofiat Ayode ‘f’ of No 10 Bale street Satellite town reported at Satellite Police Station that one Chisom Obiora ‘m’ 19yrs abducted her Son Aliamin Rofiat ‘m’ 3yrs old. Investigation led to the arrest of the suspect and the kidnapped Baby was rescued unhurt. Investigation is ongoing, suspect will be charged to court.
6. Arrest of Suspect and Recovery of stolen Vehicle
On 09/04/2019 at about 2115hrs a Toyota Corolla saloon with reg No EKY 949 FJ belonging to one Ikechukwu Chikudi ‘m’ of Oshodi area, was snatched at 3rd Avenue Festac. Immediately, the report was made, a team of policemen from Festac Police Station was drafted to the scene, one Bawa Garuba ‘m’ 29yrs was arrested with the stolen vehicle. Investigation is ongoing, suspect will be charge to court
7. Arrest of Armed Cultist and their Chief Priest
On 12/04/2019 at about 1620hrs acting on information, one Femi Murtala ‘m’ of No 24 Iyana Ipaja was intercepted at Muwo IRA bridge by a team of policemen attached to Ojo Division with one locally made pistol and three live cartridges. He confessed to be a member of Eiye Confraternity and was on his way to attend some cult rituals at the shrine of their priests. The shrine was raided where one locally made gun and one locally made double barrel gun were recovered. The chief priest one John Nkpe ‘m’ of No 9 Balaa Street Ojo was also arrested. Investigation is ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang, suspect will be charged to court.
8. Arrest of Armed Robbery Suspects
On 10/4/2019 at about 0005hrs, Ketu Police Station while on patrol around Ketu bus-stop arrested Ayomide Ayobami ‘m’ and Taye Onofowokan ‘m’, both residing at Agboyi Ketu with a handbag. During search, a locally made pistol and a jack knife with three live ammunitions were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing, suspects will be charged to court.
9. Arrest of a Notorious Armed Robbery Suspect and Cult Leader
On 07/04/2019 at about 0900hrs following a sustained monitoring, one Kehinde Olamide ‘m’ popularly known as OBEKE who has been on the wanted list of Police was arrested at Iyana-Ishashi by Ojo Division. He was alleged of masterminding the attack on Yoruba Loaders in Afolabi Ege market. His gang is notorious for robbery and cultism. They operate mostly along Pako Bus stop and Mile Ten area of Ojo. Investigation is ongoing, suspect will be charged to court.
10. Arrest of Cult members for Murder
On 14th April, 2019 at about 0845hrs, Ogombo Police station received a distress call that rival cult groups had a clash of supremacy along Abraham Adesanya, Lekki-Epe express way where four members of Eiye cult gang were killed by Aye members. Two suspected Aye confraternity members namely Saheed Lateef ‘m’ 21yrs and Julius Augulere ‘m’ 20 yrs both of No.13 Obodo street okeira-nla, Langbasa, Ajah-Lagos were arrested in connection with the case and they confessed to the commission of the crime. One Axe with blood stains was recovered from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing and suspects will be charged to court.
11. Arrest of Cult members and recovery of dangerous weapons
On 11/04/2019 at about 0230hrs Police officers attached to Dopemu Police Station, while on patrol at No. 13 Oseni street Moricas Agege, arrested four suspects namely; Yusuf Jinaidu ‘m’ 18yrs, Samuel Timothy ‘m’ 18yrs, Ibrahim Adetutu ‘m’ 20yrs, Olumide Taiwo ‘m’ 22yrs . Two cutlasses and One Dagger were recovered from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing and suspects will be charged to court.
12. Arrest of suspected armed robbers/cultists/recovery of arms and ammunitions
On 16/04/2019 about 0945hrs, Police officers attached to Department of Operation, while on patrol at Ayeteju/Baba Adisa community in Elemoro, Ibeju-Lekki, arrested a group of armed robbers/cultists, namely; Sunday Babatunde ‘m’ 27yrs, Yusuf Adekoya ‘m’ 27yrs and Ibrahim Adekoya ‘m’ 26yrs, all of Alaun, Ibeju-Lekki. One locally made pistol with unexpended cartridges were recovered from the suspects. . Investigation is ongoing and suspects will be charged to court.
13. Arrest of Illicit Drug dealers
On 17/4/2019, at about 0200hrs on the strength of information received from a reliable source, Police officers attached to Festac Division arrested one Sode Femi ‘m’ 28yrs of 23 road Festac in his possession of Eighteen (18) bottles of steam injection drugs with Seventeen(17) syringes; Thirty eight(38) wraps of cocaine; Twenty-one(21) wraps of ice crack cocaine; Large quantity of unwrapped Indian helm; One(1) Dell Laptop; Seven(7) different brands of handsets suspected to be stolen. Investigation is ongoing and suspect will soon be charged to Court.
14. Arrest of armed robbery suspects and recovery of arms and ammunition
On 19/03/2019 at about 1440hrs Police officers attached to Special Anti-robbery Squad, Igando Base arrested one Francis Obi ‘m’ and Semiu abiodun ‘m’ both residence of Imo State. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have killed one Oboile Obinna Efenkade ‘m’ 30yrs in an attempt to rob. That they came from Imo State to operate in Lagos. Three (3) Baretta pistols with five (5) live ammunition and three (3) expended ammunition were recovered. Investigation is ongoing and suspects will be charged to Court.
