The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) received with mixed feelings the news of the demise of Justice Kayode Eso today. Whilst it could be said that a sage and elder-statesman that had labored, very assiduously, for the good of the society was deserving of rest as it is appointed for all mortals, it is something of regret that the incorruptible Judge would cease to be with us in flesh and blood.
Justice Kayode Eso, in his life-time, showed the way in judicial courage and uprightness. He never pandered to the majority at any time to do what he felt was unsupportable with available evidence and the dictates of his conscience. It was little wonder that his judgments bore the imprimatur of intuition, brilliance and unassailability. This easily explains why, in retirement, his services were still soughtanywhere there was need to search for Truth and Justice!
As a Party, we commiserate with his immediate family, the Nigerian Judiciary that has lost another beacon of hope and the Nation for this huge loss of a worthy Patriot. We pray for the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
