JAMB to Build Computer Based Testing Centers Across Nigeria

senate_president__david_mark 600The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is to fast track the building of Computer based testing centres across the country as part of measures to smoothen and erase bottlenecks in the conduct of examinations into tertiary institutions before the end of the year.

This is to erase the problems of logistics, curb examination malpractices and other shortcomings associated with the previous arrangement.

One of the new centers is to be built in Otukpo, Benue State to complement the one already constructed in Makurdi, to carter for the North Central zone .

Senate President Senator David Mark announced at the weekend that JAMB registrar Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde has graciously approved the construction of the computer based testing centre for Otukpo and environs.

Senator Mark while addressing Golfers who participated in the 4th edition of Late Mrs. Odusola Ojerinde’s memorial Golf tournament at Otukpo Golf and Country Club in Benue State added that the centre when completed will be an edifice for Information technology to ease the stress students go through taking JAMB examinations.

Commenting on the four-day golf tournament that paraded Professional and Amateur Golfers across the country, Senator Mark noted that the Otukpo Golf and country club has since January, 2013 expended over N40 million on various golfing competition even as renewed his determination to promote the game of Golf, “I have decided to develop Golf in the country and it is receiving impressive attention. I want to encourage other well-meaning Nigerians to identify and develop other sports”.

He commended the young golfers who took part in the just concluded international competition between the Otukpo Golf Club and Tema Golf club of Ghana adding that in the nearest future, Nigeria will become a Golf nation.

Senator Mark praised the sponsor and husband of the late Mrs. Odusola Ojerinde memorial Golf tournament, Professor Dibu Ojerinde for his nationalistic gesture at bringing the annual memorial tournament to Benue, saying that the memory of his late wife will linger on.

In his remark, the Registrar JAMB, Professor Dibu Ojerinde thanked the President of the Senate for the opportunity to host the memorial tournament in Otukpo while assuring improvement in the consequent tournament.

Amos Korblah of Otukpo golf club won the tournament with 286 points.
