IG Meets Police Community Relations Committee ,Orders Withdrawal of ID Card

The Inspector-General of Police, Ag.IGP Suleiman Abba on Tuesday held an all important meeting with the Leadership of Police Community Relations Committee PCRC from across the Country.
Force Spokesman , Ag.CP Emmanuel Ojukwu said the IGP in his address admonished the leadership to re-invigorate the tenets of the PCRC Nationwide, in order to deepen the concept of Community Policing, a veritable instrument in achieving the mission statements of the current Police Leadership.
In the same light, Ojukwu used the occasion to announce the decision of the Police leadership to suspend forthwith the PCRC ID cards currently in-use by its members.
This he said has become necessary to checkmate the illegal proliferation of the said ID card by some criminally minded elements, who impersonate as members of the PCRC to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The statement added that a newly designed PCRC ID card will be issued to authentic members soonest.
