The final match of the GSL Open, the final leg of the 2019 ITF World Tennis Tour Abuja, will have two Frenchmen, Tom Jomby and Dan Added, fighting for the trophy.
Jomby defeated Sumo Yitbarek of Sweden 7-5 6-3 to qualify for the final, after displaying tough resistance in the two sets.
Yitbarek told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after the match that he lost to a better opponent.
He said the world tennis tour in Abuja was one of the best outings in his career.
Yitbarek commended the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF) for its efforts in promoting tennis, describing the tennis facilities on ground as spectacular.
Earlier, Netherlands’ Niels Lootsma had lost to Dan Added of France 5-7 4-6 in a match which lasted one hour and 27 minutes.
Added surprised the spectators with smart and accurate smashes against the number seven seed.
The tennis tour comes to an end on Sunday.(NAN)
