The Masari Restoration Project, a political organisation in Katsina State, on Wednesday, donated food and working tools worth millions of Naira to victims of the recent windstorm in Katsina State.
The windstorm, which occurred four weeks ago, killed six persons and destroyed about 500 houses in Katsina metropolis.
Spokesman of the group, Ahmad El-marzuq, said the assistance would complement the state government’s efforts in relieving the hardships of the victims.
He added that items donated included 155 bags of cement, 227 bags of millet, 70 bags of rice, 26 bags of maize, 30 cartons of spaghetti and 30 bundles of zinc.
El-marzuq handed over the items to the State Emergency Management Agency for onward distribution to the victims.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to avert future occurrence.
The SEMA Executive Secretary, Dr Aminu Waziri, who received the items, commended the organisation for the gesture.
Waziri assured that the items would be given to the victims identified by the agency. (NAN)
