The Provost, Federal College of Education (Tech) Bichi, Kano State, Prof. Bashir Muhammad Fagge, mni says the institution has admitted 4,450 students for the 2019/2020 academic year.
The Provost said this on Saturday in Bichi during the 30th matriculation of the college.
According to Muhammad Fagge, the college admitted the students after meeting the requirements of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination.
He urged the students to face their academic activities.
“This college has maintained and will continue to maintain zero tolerance for all anti-social behaviour such as cultism, examination malpractice and such other vices,” he said.
Muhammad Fagge explained that the college has enjoyed relative peace over the years.
He therefore advised the new students to keep to the matriculation oath and stay away from any activity that would constitute a threat to the peace of the college.
According to the provost, any manifestation of such ills, shall be dealt with in accordance with the college’s rules and regulations.
“It is also important to remind you to be security conscious in view of the state of the nation. Do not keep late nights,” he said.
He further urged them not to move alone particularly during the night hours and also to be careful of the kind of friends they associate with.
“You are urged to obey the rules and regulations of the college, as the governing council, management and staff of the institution have great interest in your progress.
“And we will do everything within our powers to protect your genuine academic efforts.
“My sincere prayers for you is to graduate promptly in flying colors, become useful to your self, your family, the nation and the world in general,” Muhammad-Fagge said.
Some of the new students interviewed expressed readiness to abide by the college’s rules and regulations and focus on their studies. (NAN)
