The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria,FAAN has reopened the Abuja Airport after an air mishap involving a private jet forced the authority to close it for 30 minutes.
FAAN General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu confirmed Thursday evening that the “Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja is now open for normal operations.”
She also expressed management’s appreciation of “your understanding.”
Earlier, she announced that the airport was closed for 30 minutes to“enable the Authority take safety precautions, as a private jet being operated by Nest Oil has just skidded off the Abuja runway.
She said, “The aircraft lost its landing gear in the process but all hands are on deck to put the situation under control and normalcy would be restored within the hour
