Enugu is engulfed by a new political crisis as the state lawmakers have begun an impeachment process against Governor Sulivan Chime.
Though details were not available immediately,it was learnt that the lawmakers are accusing the governor of corruption and highhandedness.
The latest crisis reportedly began after the governor asked the lawmakers to approve N11billion loan for yet to be disclosed projects ,a request the lawmakers turned down.
Chime was said to have sought the impeachment of the Speaker,Mr Eugene Odoh afterward .
Monday’s impeachment move was an indication that the lawmakers may have turned the tables against the governor.
But the state government has reportedly dismissed the impeachment move against him as insignificant.
