An agreement to end the ongoing strike by Nigerian University lecturers on the platform of ASUU has been reached with the Federal Government.
This was confirmed by ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, at the end of a protracted meeting in Abuja.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, ASUU president said “Now we have some concrete proposals that we will take back to our members for consideration.”
Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu also said the lecturers’ demands have been met.
ASUU leaders are expected to consult with their members and let the government and the anxious public know their decision hopefull within a week.
The striking university lecturers, ASUU, have agreed to consider the federal government’s offer and suspend their strike.
Details of the agreement have not been made public yet.
