The embattled Senator Dino Melaye has dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He announced his ‘defection’ on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, asking that he be offered seat in the “opposition wing” of the Senate.
Melaye attended plenary on Wednesday after some weeks absence and raised a point of order thanking his colleagues, members of the House of Representatives, his constituents and all who stood by him in his trying times.
Thanking the leadership of the PDP for their support, the Senator asked the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to mandate the sergeant-at-arms to create a seat for him at the opposition wing of the chamber.
