Biu : 5 Boko Haram Fighters , Anti-Aircraft Guns Captured As Troops Repel Attack

Nigeria’s military said it repelled attacks launched against Biu Wednesday by Boko Haram terrorists.Reports earlier in the day said terrorists had launched a fierce attack on the town causing panic once again across the country over the seemingly endless insurgency.
But assurances soon came from the Military High Command which said that the attacks were actually repelled by its troops.The military also announced that it recovered two anti-aircraft guns during the counter-offensive against the insurgents.
“Terrorist attack repelled by the Military in #BIU, Borno State. Two Anti-Aircraft Guns have been captured from the Terrorists” the Defence Headqaurters said on its twitter handle.
Another tweet by the Defence Headquarters said , “ Troops in pursuit of fleeing terrorists as Mopping up operation is ongoing. Five (5) terrorists have so far been captured.”
The attack on Biu came days after the horrific attacks on Baga in Borno state.These have also been followed by bomb explosions in Maiduguri Market ,Borno State capital and Potiskum in Yobe
Equally,the sect launched another daring attack on Damaturu, Yobe State capital which the military also repelled.
