Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State ,Mr Nsima U.Ekere has resigned his appointment .
In a two paragraph resignation letter, the deputy governor cited ‘personal’ reasons behind his decision to throw in the towel.
But other reports said his resignation may have been a move aimed averting an impeachment plot which is believed to have been hatched against him over alleged political differences with his boss,Governor Godswill Akpabio.
In a related development,Governor Danbaba Suntai of Taraba state masterminded the impeachment of his deputy governor.A new deputy governor is in office now .Sadly the air crash involving Suntai last week has complicated the political situation in his state.
It is believed Akwa Ibom deputy governor moved to avoid the ‘Suntai treatment’ of being fired through the state house of assembly repeating itself in Akwa Ibom state.Details of his political disagreement with Governor Akpabio remain unclear as at the time of this report
