The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) command in Plateau on Monday in Jos certified 23 fleet operators.
They include Buewhales Nigeria Ltd, Plateau Express Services (Plateau Riders), serving in Mission, First Karama Nig Ltd., Njama Motors, Nnaemeka Transport Services, Arbet Nigeria Ltd, ECWA Headquarters Jos, Godbest motors and Asumata and sons.
Others are: Hariz Petroleum Ltd, TIS Innovation, Zeftan Services, Grand Cereals and Oil Mills, Aniya Pharmaceuticals, Chi-Boy Express, PW Construction Company, God’s Time is the Best Motors, Nigeria Bottling Company, NASCO Group Headquarters, Dentech Global Services, Godsgrace Nig. Ltd and Maren motors.
Presenting certificates to the certified fleet operators, Mr Peter Kibo, the Zonal Commanding Officer in charge of FRSC Jos zone, said the certification was in accordance with Road Transport Safety Standardisation Scheme (RTSSS).
The officer of the zone, comprising Plateau, Nasarawa and Benue sector commands, commended the fleet operators and urged them to operate within the ambit of the law.
Kibo said “while I congratulate you for keying into this vision, I encourage all certified operators to play by the well established rules of engagement.”
Mrs Pat Emeordi, the Plateau Sector Commander, commended the newly certified fleet operators for joining the league of professionals in the driving vocation.
She said that the business of road safety was that of all Nigerians and should not be seen as the exclusive preserve of the FRSC.
Emeordi called on all and sundry to support the organisation in its bid to make the highways safer for all. (NAN)
