The Igwe of Enugu his Majesty Barrister Julius Nnaji was on a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adamu Baba Abubakar at about 1130 -1210 hours today Wednesday the 18th of October 2017.
According to a press release by Colonel Sagir Musa, deputy director public relations 82 Division the royal father congratulated the Nigerian Army represented by the 82 Division for a successful exercise EGWU EKE 11. He commended the GOC and his men for the gains of the exercise in the areas of improvement in peace and security in the South East geopolitical zone, particularly in Enugu State.
Recall that Nike community is the host community of the Division for many years. Hence, it is interesting that there has never been any serious conflict between the Division and the community.
The Igwe, on behalf of his community, reiterated his resolve to ensuring that the excellent civil -military relationship is maintained.
He remarked further that many people of Nike community, including members of my family have for long been benefitting from the medical services of 82 Division hospital.
He urged the GOC not to be distracted with the unnecessary allegations about the army’s free medical outreaches.
On the part of the Division, General Abubakar assured the igwe that the troops will remain law abiding and respect the rights of others at all times. He explained/debunked the unimaginable rumour of monkey pox disease in respect of the Nigerian Army Free Medical outreaches in the South East geopolitical zone.
The Chief of Staff 82 Division, Brigadier General LKN Udeagbala, Garrison Commander 82 Division Brigadier General LA Adegboye and Commanders Ordinance Services and Supply and Transport Brigadier General HI Ugwuoke and EA Anaryu were in attendance.
