At least nine persons have been killed as two suicide bombers hit Potiskum in Yobe state ,north east Nigeria.
Toyin Gbadegeshin, Yobe Police Spokesman who confirmed the incident told NAN that “At about 12.25hrs, twin suicide bombers struck at Dorowa at the vigilante office and near Lara filling station, killing Ado Kwamanda and six of his men.
“Two people, including the bomber, died in the second attack,” the PPRO said.
Though no group has claimed responsibility for the blasts,Yobe and Borno States have been hardest hit by the Boko Haram insurgency.
Nigeria’s new President Muhammadu Buhari has given assurances that he will subdue the terrorists.He has been mobilizing Nigeria’s neighbours and the Multi-National Joint Task Force,MNJTF has been reinvigorated.
At the African Union Summit in South Africa during the weekend, Buhari rallied African leaders to rise against terrorism and insecurity represented by the wave of Boko Haram ,Al shabab and AlQaida attacks.
