The Governor Of Borno State, Kashim Shettima has emerged the new Chairman of Northern States Governors’ Forum, NSGF.
He is taking over from Babangida Aliyu, with the Deputy Governor of Kano State and Governor- elect, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as his deputy.
The new board of leadership would be inaugurated June or July with all former governors of northern states in attendance.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman promised that ” the Governors would unite under one body to fight Boko Haram.” He assured them that with the new leadership, the body will be a united family to tackle the challenges of the north irrespective of religious beliefs and background.
Governors present at the meeting held Monday at Asokoro Abuja include those of Gombe, Adamawa,Kaduna; Niger, Benue, Kwara,Borno, Zamfara,Bauchi,Kebbi,Kano Governor- elect, and Kogi State deputy governor.
