Kano State Governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso has directed the state University of Science and Technology, Wudil to commence admission of students into the Kano Sports Institute.
The governor, who gave the directive during an inspection visit to the newly completed institute at Karfi in Kura local government area said the move, would afford teeming indigenes of Kano and beyond wider prospect to become competitive sports men and women.
Gov. Kwankwaso also visited Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso where he directed the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport to extend the anterior fence of the college to cover more ground.
He argued that doing so would provide more space within the college compound that could be used for physical development, educational and recreational purposes.
In his speech, the College’s Provost, Dr. Sule Musa said the execution of several projects by the government is a testimony to the foresight and education-friendliness of Governor Kwankwaso.
Meanwhile, the governor inspected the 5 kilometer dualized road project in Kura local government where he noted that the project is steadily approaching completion.
The governor was accompanied during the visit by the state Commissioner for Works, Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Vice Chancellor of Kano State University of Science and Technology, Prof. Shehu and other top government officials.
