The Senator representing Plateau North ,Mr Gyang Nyam Pwajok, on Thursday urged Northerners to vote en masse for President Goodluck Jonathan in his second term bid in 2015. He said the people of Plateau state have resolved to support the re-election of the President in 2015.
The Senator hinged his position on the fact that the President through his transformation programme has done a lot for the North .”Yes, there are challenges but he is doing the best that he can to make this country, especially the North a better place for us.we in Plateau we have pledged to support him”,he said
Pwajok who made the call through his aide, Hon. Ayuba Jagaba when officials of Amalgamated Northern Youths for PDP officially presented a certificate of trusteeship to the Senator noted that Governor Jonah David Jang being the leader of PDP in the state was the first among all the PDP governors to declare support for the President re-election. “We are solidly behind our governor, we will go with a leader who has brought us redemption.”
“We in Plateau , when we say yes, it will remain yes, come rain, come sunshine, I can vouch for our people.”
On his part, the national Chairman of the group, Aruwa Ismaila, urged Nigerians to appreciate the good work Jonathan has been doing and to continue to support the PDP government at all levels for a better country.
He said the decision to select Sen. Pwajok to serve as a trustee of the group was based on his good records and contributions in the redemption programme in the state. He said, “we are here today to present him with a certificate to serve as one of our trustees, because of his good records. We recognise his contributions in the redemption programme which has brought a lot of transformation in the state.”
Ismaila noted that, “the cry of endorsement shows that President Jonathan is performing. We will work with you to deliver millions of Northern votes to the PDP,”adding that “We are going to mobilize support for Dr. Jonathan. I am assuring you the North will vote overwhelmingly for him to re-emerge as the country’s President in 2015.”
