The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority NCAA has suspended the Gambia Bird ,the country’s national airline from flying into Nigeria as a result of inadequate measures by the airline towards containing the deadly Ebola disease.
In a letter to the country manager of Gambia bird, the NCAA acting director general Engr Benedict Adeyileka said the airline has failed to meet up with measures stipulated to curb the Ebola virus disease currently ravaging three West African countries.
Engr Adeyileka said NCAA had reviewed the measures put in place by Gambia Bird but was found to be unsatisfactory; thereby suspending their flights in and out of Nigeria.
He however gave assurance that the suspension will be lifted when the airline improves on the measures stipulated by NCAA.
