#TrackNigeria: Traditional ruler of Oghara Community in Delta State, Noble Oyibo Eshemitan has urged members of Nigeria Institute of Policy, Strategic Studies, (NIPSS) to develop ways for universal health care scheme for Nigerians.
The monarch made this known in Oghara Kingdom on Thursday when participants of NIPSS paid him courtesy visit.
Oshemitan noted that funding universal health care delivery in Nigeria was germane to alleviate the financial burden on the masses.
Appreciating the participants for their contribution to nation’s building, the monarch said that Oghara Community hosts the state teaching hospital, four health centers and five maternity centers as well as alternative medicine homes.
He added that patronage to these healthcare centers were based on economic strength and beliefs of patients.
“As the nation formost think-tank institution, I hope that there would be policies and actions that will bring improvement in our country, the funding of universal health care delivery in communities and by extension Nigeria, would definitely open in road towards improving the welfare of the citizenry,” he said.
The Director- General of the Institute, Jonathan Juma said that the Institute would continue to produce the best policy makers for the country, adding that Nigeria would soon overcome its economic developmental problems.
