Rt. Rev. Humphrey Olumakaiye, Diocesan Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos, (Anglican Communion) has called for unity amongst Nigerians irrespective of religious, tribal and political ideologies.

Olumakaiye, in his Good Friday message, said that one of the lessons that Christians could derive from the Easter is unity.

According to him, ”the cross ultimately unites us together in Christ. I therefore enjoin Nigerians to be united, particularly as we prepare to experience another era of our political history.

“There is no other time than now that true patriotism should come to play, we must preach and practice unity in diversity irrespective of our religious, tribal and political ideologies.

He urged Nigerians to strive to be holy, righteous and do whatever that pleases God, adding that He has pre-negotiated that we go into prosperity, peace and love.

“As we celebrate Easter, let us determine in our hearts to be committed to God in every way as individuals, families and as a nation.

“Let us have living faith in God to move our country forward. This day I declare Nigeria will know peace, Nigeria will know unprecedented progress and transformation.” (NAN)
