The wife of the governor of Ogun , Mrs Olufunso  Amosu,  has charged the finalists for the 2018  Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) beauty pageant to be optimistic and face their task cheerfully.

She spoke during a tour of  the  Olumo Rock Resort late Saturday night  in Abeokuta, as part of  activities for the third edition of the  programme  holding  in the state.

According to her, you should try to face every contest or challenge with smiles on your faces, there should be no dull moment at all.

She said that the secret of success always depended   in the hands of everyone, saying this would manifest by how every individual could handle it.

She gave cash gift to the girls to enable them purchase traditional items and ornaments from the museum’s cultural collection that would serve as souvenirs for them .

The girls, guided by  the museum officials, explored exciting historical areas up to the peak of Olumo Rocks.

Also speaking on the readiness for the contest, most of the girls expressed anxiety , less than 12 hours to the finals of the contest.

Olawole Kikelemo said,  “As I  am feeling great, I  am also feeling scared,  not sure of what will happen anymore, but I will put in my best”.

She said even if she did not emerge the overall winner, that she believed  that she would  not be losing anything.

She said she had learnt so much from the exercise while in camp.

Similarly, 21- year-old-Adeleke Damilola said that she was already tensed though she believed that  only one queen would be crowned on Dec. 2.

”In fact, if I don’t make it , I  have  gained so much experiences by interactions with the officials of  the Ooni’s   Palace while we visited the Oba.

Also, the programme had afforded me the others  the opportunity to see the beautiful sites in Abeokuta, she said.

“There, we learnt how to use local fabrics to make bags and, shoes,”, she said.

Also,  Damola Omotolaam said that she was looking forward to the finals with great optimism.

”I feel I’ll be crowned as  the new queen, I am positive about that.”

The 2018 edition of QMA pagean, which is a cultural contest initiated by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi,  is the third edition aimed at boosting and promoting the Yoruba culture among youths.

This year’s contest is taking  place in Abeokuta, with the wife of the Ogun state governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosu, as the chief host. (NAN)
