The Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, Mr Suraj Adekunbi, has enjoined Nigerians to continue to reflect on the principles that unite the nation, enhance its stability and socio-economic wellbeing.
Adekunbi, in a Christmas message on Tuesday in Abeokuta, stressed the need for Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of love and peaceful coexistence that the birth of Jesus Christ symbolised.
“The period of Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the symbol of Christianity
“And the harbinger of peace, love and good tidings and there is no better way to celebrate the season but by showing love irrespective of religious beliefs or creed”.
The speaker called for sustained prayers for peace, unity and stability of the country, especially as the nation moved towards the electioneering period.
He tasked residents of the state to imbibe the enduring lessons of sacrifice, which the season represents.
The speaker said that the rebuilding mission of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of the state led administration would be consolidated through the support of all and sundry.
He reiterated the determination of the 8th Legislature under his leadership to continue to enact more people-oriented legislation that would help consolidate on the ongoing efforts of the state government. (NAN)
