Former Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki, father of ex National Security Adviser Colonel Sambo Dasuki,has expressed surprise at the raid on his Sokoto residence by operatives of the State Security Service,SSS.
Sultan Dasuki expressed his view in an interview with the Hausa Service of British Broadcasting Corporation aired Monday morning.He also said he was unhappy about the invasion of his house.
The former Sultan said he learnt SSS also searched rooms belonging to women, ceilings and even an empty envelop as Newsdiaryonline had reported earlier.
When told that the SSS search was in connection with an investigation into the activities of his son who served as NSA Dasuki said replied that Sambo lives in house Abuja not Sokoto.
The SSS in a statement Saturday evening confirmed raiding the Abuja and Sokoto houses as part of a plan to avert a plan to commit treasonable felony.SSS said “based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.”
