Reports reaching Newsdiaryonline  indicate said that operatives of the State Security Service,SSS who stormed the residence of the immediate past National Security Adviser, (NSA) ,Colonel Sambo Dasuki have been withdrawn  Friday evening.

Newsdiaryonline   learnt that the security operatives left with $40,000 which they found in his residence. But sources close to Sambo have dismissed the evidence”how can you say he cannot afford $40000  as his one money?” the source queried.

Insiders also told Newsdiaryonline that the security operatives  seized  his international passport from the former NSA.Earlier, a source noted that the best way to handle  whatever problem there was to invite him quietly because  “Dasuki has travelled  out of the country and returned after Goodluck Jonathan left office. So he doesn’t seem to have a desire to run away”.

The operatives stormed his residence and also searched it last night. The fact that they left with some items however complicates  an understanding of why they went there in the first place. Some reports said he would be quizzed over some deals while in office. There was no clear indication he was so quizzed  along that line. But he was kept at home   under virtual house arrest. That also sparked allegations from family members that the entire operation was due to some sort of vendetta against the Dasuki family.

Security operatives also stormed he Sokoto residence of former Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki , further fuelling suspicion that it was a vendetta move indeed  targeted at the Dasuki family. But  an Aso rock official earlier denied the involvement of President Muhammadu Buhariin this saga.

It was not immediately clear who gave the final order to withdraw the operatives this evening .But there has not been an official statement on the issue .

A source said there seemed something quite curious about the operation. It was alleged that virtually all the operatives that accosted the NSA in his residence were all from Katsina. Was it a coincidence ?the insider asked

Lingering Allegation of Vendatta

Sources close to the former  NSA and his family have  insisted that essentially, they believe this operation was all about vendetta over the  suspicion that the former Sultan  Dasuki  had an inkling about   the Ibrahim Babangida coup which brought sacked Buhari’s military regime in 1984.

Newsdiaryonline was told  ,by friends of the former any  that the suspicion that Dasuki might be aware of the coup  that ousted him may be behind  the search of his Sokoto house.Otherwise why would they search the father’s house?

Also one source said “We have had people asking us several questions. One asked why is it that Sambo did not betray  Goodluck Jonathan ?And Sambo has  told all those who asked him  that Jonathan gave him a job and he did it to the best of his ability.Sambo often told those who asked him that he “swore to God that I will do my best and  would not betray Jonathan. If you are going to hold that against me, so be it”.

However an observer advised those who carried this operation against Dasuki’s father  to watch it.They drew attention the fact that  General Abacha who  dethroned and detainedDasuki   died mysteriously.Nobody should play God, they advised. Also Ismaila Gwarzo ,a former NSA  and some emirs involved in that  Sultan Dasuki affair have  had several kind of problems. “Iam pleading with Buhari people not to choose the wrong person to fight because God is with him.”

It  is even strange that the Dasukis are being targeted, one observer said .He  noted that there are several heavyweights of the last government, why have they not gone after them.”This is odd because one of the closest person to Buhari, Mallam Mamman Daura  who like is an uncle  to the president is married Sambo’s younger sister”.

Newsdiaryonline  has repeatedly reported that the failure to issue an official statement on the Sambo Dasuki affair gave room for the vendetta speculation to gain currency .Observers are watching what will be the next line of action from the security officials.
