According to him, “The 20,000 youths were trained in various vocational skills to make them productive to themselves and the society. They are the future leaders of Nigeria and the state in particular, as such, they should be fully equipped to play this role diligently.”
Professors Bello Bada and Ja’afar Kaura all of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto emphasised for Nigerians’ reorientation towards discipline, hard work and the fear of God.
“Lack of these noble virtues in Nigeria is the direct genesis of the problems of leadership crisis and other forms of social malaise that we are seeing now in the nation. These will enhance peace, unity, political stability and socio-economic progress of Nigeria,” they corroborated.
Northern Chairman of the society, Yusuf Yaqub stated that the training was aimed at building the capacity of the participants.
“This is to tame the tide of the challenges currently plaguing Nigeria like poverty, insecurity, corruption and the lack of purposeful leadership, among others,” he said.
