The Local Government Congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was on Saturday conducted peacefully in Wamakko local government area of Sokoto State.
A statement by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko said at the end of the exercise, a 27-man executive Committee was peacefully elected in the area.
The Secretary of the Electoral Committee dispatched to monitor the exercise in Sokoto State, Alhaji Kabiru Zarewa expressed happiness with the successful conduct of the exercise, adding that delegates and members of the party from the local government led by Wamakko deserved commendation.
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee dispatched to monitor the election in the local government from the State Headquarters of the party, Dr Jabbi Kilgori who is also the Commissioner of Higher Education, also lauded the peaceful disposition of all the delegates.
The Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Bello Buba Kaurar Kimba, said that APC in the area is one and united.
The exercise was attended by Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District and the Member, House of Representatives representing Wamakko and Kware Federal Constituency, Alhaji Ahmad Kalambaina.
The exercise was equally monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) and security agencies.
