The elder Sister of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Hajiya Hawwa’u Barade, popularly called Hajiya Yar’Daudu, is dead.
A statement by Wamakko’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Manilso said that the late Yar’Daudu died Sunday at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH), Sokoto after a protracted illness.
Her funeral prayer which was conducted at Wamakko’s Gidan-Kara residence at Wamakko town, was led by the Chief Imam of Wamakko Central Mosque, Sheikh Shehu Ardo.
The funeral was attended by Senator Wamakko, the former Governor of Sokoto State, Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim, former Secretary to Sokoto State Government, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi and Ambassador M. Z. Anka.
Others were members of the State Executive Council and the state House of Assembly, politicians, businessmen, Islamic clerics and religious leaders, among others.
