Senate Adjourns Sitting To Mourn Late Zannah

The Senate on Tuesday adjourned sitting to mourn late Senator Ahmed Zannah who died last weekend. The adjournment followed  a motion moved  by Senate leader Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba that the upper chamber be adjourned till Wednesday in honour of their late colleague.

“I move that the Senate do adjourn till Wednesday in line with our tradition to honour our departed colleague Senator Ahmed Zana representing Borno Central” Ndoma-Egba said.

The Senate also observes  a minute’s  of silence for the late Senator. Before putting the motion to  vote, Senate President David Mark reminded the Senators that in keeping with their tradition the Senate cannot sit on Tuesday. “In keeping with our tradition, we cannot sit today” Mark said.

He added that the Senate will hold a valedictory session on Wednesday for late Senator Senator Uche Chukwumerije who died last month at the Turkish Hospital in Abuja at the age of 75and Senator Ahmed Zana who died last weekend.

Senator Ahmed Zannah died in Abuja last Saturday at the age of 60 after years of battle with a terminal disease.
