Bauchi was agog with visitors who trouped to the state to attend the 3-day Fidau Prayer and to commiserate with Governor Isa Yuguda, his family and the people of Bauchi state over the death of his beloved mother Hajiya Hauwa Goggo who died on Wednesday the 29th April 2015 at the age of 86 after a protracted illness.
Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo led the Federal Government’s delegation to commiserate with the Governor and people of the state over the sad and painful loss.
The Vice President said they were in the state on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, himself and the Federal Government to pay their condolence to the Governor over the loss of his mother.
He prayed for the repose of her gentle soul and for God Almighty to grant her eternal rest while also praying that God grant the family the fortitude to bear this great and irreparable loss.
“I am here today on behalf of President Goodluck Ebeje Jonathan, the Federal Government and myself as the governor’s brother and also an indigene of Bauchi where I attended my Primary school, over this great loss of our mother. May Allah (SWT) have mercy on her, may He forgive her sins and May he grant her Aljannah Firdaus.” He said The Vice President also prayed for peace and prosperity of the nation.
In his response, Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi state expressed his gratitude to the Federal Government for sending a delegation to commiserate with the family and the state over the death of his mother.
The governor said that there was no death that was more painful than the loss of one’s mother. He however, added that he took solace in the fact that it was God that gives and takes away and that death was inevitable and reminded all that all that every man was a mortal being and keeping that in mind would strengthen their faith in God.
The 3-day fidau prayer was graced by various dignitaries among whom were governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State and his Gombe State Counterpart Ibrahim Dankwambo, Taraba State Acting Governor Sani Danladi, the Business Mogul Alh Aliko Dangote, former PDP National Chairman Haliru Mohammed serving senators and members of the national assembly amongst others.
