Prices of China’s agricultural products edged up

 China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, says the wholesale prices of its agricultural products edged up on Thursday.

The latest China agricultural product wholesale price index came in at 139.71, up 0.16 points from the previous working day.

At 2 p.m. Thursday, the average wholesale price of pork, a staple meat in China, lost 0.5 per cent to 46.57 yuan (about 7.19 U.S. dollars) per kg.

And eggs fell 1.1 per cent to 9.85 yuan per kg.

 

 

 

The average wholesale prices of 28 key types of vegetables tracked by the government edged up 1.1 per cent from the previous working day.

 

 

The wholesale price index is compiled on the basis of data collected from around 200 agricultural wholesale markets and updated daily based on the weighted average of price indices for goods.

 

 

This includes vegetables, fruits, aquatic products, livestock products, cereals and edible vegetable oil. Enditem ) (Xinhua/NAN)
