The Progressive Peoples Alliance PPA has congratulated the Labour Party over the triumph of Governor Olusegun Mimiko in the Ondo State Governorship election. In a statement by the National Chairman of PPA, Chief Sam Nkire, the party said Governor Mimko deserved to be re-elected considering his economic achievements in the State.
Chief Nkire said given the wide margin by which Mimiko won as well as PPA’s belief that INEC did its best, the party would abide by the results as announced. The PPA National Chairman seized the opportunity to appeal to other political parties which took part in the election not to waste time going to court but accept the result as the true expression of the people of Ondo State.
He advised Governor Mimiko to suspend politicking now that the elections were over and focus on providing Ondo people with basic amenities as well as protecting their lives and property.
