The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed that investigations are ongoing in an incident involving a physical altercation between a Bolt driver and a passenger in the Galadima area of Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed that investigations are ongoing in an incident involving a physical altercation between a Bolt driver and a passenger in the Galadima area of Abuja.
According to a press statement from SP Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer for the Commissioner of Police, FCT, the incident occurred on 24th October 2024.
The dispute reportedly began as an argument over luggage handling, which then escalated into a physical confrontation, resulting in injuries to the driver, Emmanuel Ebhohimen. Following a distress call, officers led by the Divisional Police Officer Galadima responded promptly. The passenger involved, identified as Brandy Nwatu, was taken into custody, while Ebhohimen received medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi.
As part of the investigation, Nwatu was released on bail but is required to report back to the police on 28th October 2024 for further actions.
The FCT Police Command has extended its appreciation to the public for their quick reporting, which helped de-escalate tensions. “Security is a shared responsibility,” the statement read, urging residents to continue using official channels to report incidents.
The Command assures the public of its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace in the FCT.
