Mr Muhammed Abudullahi, 35, on Friday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly fraudulently collecting N2 million from a company.
Abdullahi who pleaded not guilty, is facing a two-count charge of obtaining money under false pretences and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant on Jan. 10, at about 1. p.m, at Suit 3 Divine Imperial Plaza, Akala Express, Ibadan, allegedly collected N2 million from African Agro Trading and Fumigation Ltd.
He said that the defendant allegedly collected the money on the pretext to supply 40 bags of soya beans to the company but failed to do so.
He said the offence contravened Section 419 and Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till March 22 for hearing. (NAN)
