The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared Ibrahim Muhammad winner of Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, Bunza Federal Constituency in the Feb. 25 election in Kebbi.
The Returning Officer, Prof. Adamu Aliyu, made the declaration in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He said the PDP candidate polled 50,783 votes to defeat his closest contender, Mukhtar Bunza, of All Progressive Congress (APC), who polled 37,476 votes.
In the same vein, Yakubu Bello of Social Democratic Party (SDP), scored 7,884 votes.
“I, Prof. Adamu Aliyu, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer of the 2023 Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, Bunza Federal Constituency election held on the 25th day of Feb. 2023.
“The election was contested and Ibrahim Muhammad of PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Muhammad, the son of former PDP National Chairman, Dr Bello Haliru-Muhammad was replaced to contest the seat following the death of his brother, Abba Bello on Jan. 7, 2023. (NAN)
